- In science the better hypothesis wins. The one with the best explanatory power, and which is least inconsistent with the evidence, wears the crown, usually. This also happens to be where the critics of the anthropogenic global warming theories have most of their problems. They tend to focus on weakening that theory, which is fine; but they fail utterly when putting together a sufficiently powerful alternative explanatory theory.The other thing I would say is sure we are taxpayers, we all send lots of money to the federal and provincial governments every year, and I think that it important to remember that this region could use an amenity like this if we want to grow our population. And maybe those that are opposed to spending money don see population growth as an important goal.
